Many of the tracks say "From (album)",maybe it should be made clear that these were not "edited outro" (ref to Tourniquet) etc, rather, they were all re-recorded for this release. No original tracks except Personal Jesus are on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.131.43.217 (talk) 02:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget The Best of.jpg

[edit]

Image:Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget The Best of.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Goth usage

[edit]

Not going to bother arguing whether he belongs to the genre or not, but I'm not sure if we should assume they mean goth rock from the description from Rolling Stone. Like, I wouldn't doubt it could mean that, but it could just mean goth sensibilities, etc. Its not entirely clear to me and per WP:STICKTOSOURCE, we should not interpret genres in that kind of way. I will review this article. Thank you.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:04, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comments
  • "The deluxe version of the record included bonus DVD" — "included "a" bonus DVD". Add the "a" there.
  • "Commercially, the compilation out-performed expectations in the United States" — Write it as "The compilation's commercial performance exceeded expectations in the United States"
  • "had sold over a million copies by late 2010" — Write it as "had sold over a million copies as of late 2010"
  • "Internationally, it was also successful" — Write it as "It was also successful internationally,".
  • Alt texts are needed for the images.
  • Who's "the band's frontman"? Manson? If so, just write his surname there instead.
  • "includes a DVD of sixteen of the band's music videos" — Write it as "includes a bonus DVD containing sixteen of the band's music videos"

I'll look at the sources tomorrow.  — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:19, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
